"I would not hesitate to recommend or use Ian in the future."When I was ready to purchase property in New Orleans, I stumbled across Ian’s website, and based on what I read there, and a phone call decided to use him to facilitate my real estate purchase.That was the best thing to have happened. Ian’s strength as a realtor became apparent quickly; having someone who understood the local market and neighborhoods combined with his background in building, electrical and the nuances of pest control led to some of my choices being moved far down the list of possible properties.However, the method he used to guide me to the right property was even better – rather than telling me that the places I wanted to see were not good choices, he let me go though a few, then suggested 3 or 4 showings he knew of that would never have made my short list.I was sure I did not want a condo, but relented and let him show me two units in the Quarter. I made an offer that afternoon that was accepted, at a price based on the realities of the market, not on what the list price was. He ensured that the sale closed, referring reliable inspectors, suggesting various insurance agents and financial institutions, making sure the sale went smoothly in spite of me not even being in the country for the closing.Since then, I have witnessed how he manages the selling end of business when I was considering listing my property. Once again he obliged and gave me a realistic plan to sell the listing, taking into account recent market activity in that area. Better yet, he advised AGAINST selling, knowing why I had purchased in the first place, and predicting that I would regret selling.While this resulted in no listing and no sale and therefore no money earned, he was right. I would not hesitate to recommend or use Ian in the future. He saved me money and found me a perfect place in New Orleans. As it turns out, he is also my go-to person for short notice information on many social aspects of the city. Plus, he makes some of the best “don’t know what it is but tastes great” food from Trinidad. "
