Kevin Lisota answered:
The NWMLS tracks whether a listing is a short sale or bank-owned property in the agent-viewable field of their database. As of Oct 1, brokers are able to publish those fields to the general public on their website, but as of now, I don't know of anyone who has posted it yet. It is unfortunate that it isn't easier for the general public to see that information on their own, but it should be fixed shortly as some brokers start posting that information on their websites. Today, the best source of the data is to contact an agent who has an NWMLS membership. They can search on these fields quickly and provide your with a current list of properties. - Tue Oct 20 2009, 10:01
