Most agents in Ohio do not handle rental proeprties. However, with that being said, a good agent will advise you as to your options. I do not know of anyone who handles individual rental properties. If you are open to also the possibility of finding a buyer, then an agent could list your home on the local MLS and list under "terms" the following: cash, conventional, lease option, lease purchase, rent, land contract. I would be interested in talking with your further if you so wish.

Always, always, always the best idea is to talk with a reputable lender. A good real estate agent will not show you homes until you know what price range you can afford. It's heart-breaking for a buyer to look at homes , fall in love with one, and then find out it is out of their price range.

A good lender will also tell you what your lending options are and which ones fit your particular situation. Lending regulations are much stiffer than they were even a few short months ago. Credit is one obstacle that is hard to overcome, but if you are serious about purchasing a home, it doesn't take too long to bring your credit score up. A good lender will counsel you on this.

Good luck and best wishes for a successful home purchase in the near future!

If you have already closed on a property you will definitely need to consult an attorney. A quick answer, though, would be that the definition of 'closed" is "the end" of a transaction. If the deed has not been filed, then an attorney may have some advice for you. Normally this does not happen, though. - Mon Nov 16 2009, 15:44
