I have lived in Oakland for over thirty years and know the city, neighborhoods and real estate market very well. I bought my first house in 1979, a total fixer. I bought a condemned victorian home in Oakland, which was scheduled for demolition, moved it to a lot a few blocks away and restored it. I have bought and renovated several rundown homes over the years. I worked as a General Contractor for over twenty years in Oakland, Berkeley and surrounding. I spent several years working with realtors preparing homes for sale, which led me into a career as a realtor. I am involved in the community, architectural preservation, neighborhood networking, animal welfare, and all things Oakland! I support green building, and know that the highest form of green is preservation, that is restoration and preservation of existing buildings. I am committed to teaching and encouraging people to uncover the beauty of existing homes through cost-effective means. I've sold homes this year from a $55,000 fixer cottage to a $1,100,000 classic Tudor. I work with both buyers and sellers, however not on the same transaction. I have extensive experience with short sales and bank-owned properties.
