As stated previously make sure you are working with a buyers agent.
Not only do you want someone who is not working with the sellers interest but it goes beyond that. Make sure they are working for your interest. Take the time to sit down with a Realtor and discuss what interest you and what you are looking for. Call the agent a few time and see the response time to you. Make sure you have a comfort level with that Realtor. After taking you out a time or two, is the Realtor showing you what you asked for or what they think you will like. When buying a home, it is about what you like, not what your Realtors likes and believe me that can vary.
Speak up on things you like and dislike so that can help you get to what you want. If the Realtor is not listening, find one who will!!! Good Luck and I hope you find what you are looking for!
