I think you'll find that Waxhaw and all other areas of Union County have friendly people, and are open to new neighbors and new kids at school. The term "southern hospitality" certainly applies here. People you don't even know wave as you pass them, they motion for you to pull out in front of them in traffic and I wouldn't be surprised if a neighbor or two didn't bake a cake or brownies to welcome a new neighbor into the community. We've had a lot of growth here in the past decade and you'll find that many of the residents here also moved here from other areas and they love it here! A lot of the people that have moved here have had other family members move to the area as well, because it's a great place to live.
