I am looking into purchasing my first home. I am a college student (part time), with a steady and decent job; I am currently saving for a down payment on a small house. I'm looking into buying a home because having previously rented an apartment, I feel that depending on my mortgage/utility payments, not only could payments on a home be less than those for an apartment, but I would be paying into something that is mine- it isn't simply money that "disappears".
I'm looking for something in West Seneca, Orchard Park, Amherst, or Williamsville. I am concerned with having any of my future children being in good school districts; I am willing to go "smaller" in order to be in a good place.
Ideally, I will find a house with at least three decently-sized bedrooms, with a second story; one to one-and-a-half-baths, a basement, and garage. I like a lot of natural light and woodwork, but I understand that with my budget I will probably have to forsake these things. But that's okay!
