Ken,
It makes sense to interview as many agents as you can. Most real estate advisers say to interview three. There are many good and successful realtors out there and you need to find the one that you'll feel confident in both for for competence and for ethics. You might want to ask some of your friends who have sold property who they use and what the results were. You might want to check with the agent you used in buying the place or ask neighbors who they recommend. Yelp is also good place to get reviews of agents. Keep in mind that the market will determine the price you end up getting for your property. The most important parts of selling a home are in the preparation and marketing stages (which includes pricing), I'd recommend going with someone who uses both a comparative market analysis as well as absorption rate pricing. If you set your price too high the property will not sell. There are a number of shortsales and foreclosures in that area with which your place will be competing. In this market you want to price agressively but at the same time not leave any money on the table. As for costs to be paid back , that is up to the agent you work with. Everything in Real estate is negotiable. . .well, almost everything. Please check out my website for tips for selling your home. If you do decide to list it I'd like to interview for the job.
