The effects of this credit are really just starting to roll now. For several months the general public did not know about it - and then they didn't know the details of exactly what type of credit it would be. It turned out to be an incredible refundable credit that has really moved first time home buyer that know about it to action. The sad thing is, 'action' can take several months, maybe saving up for closing costs, finding the right place and lender and then dealing with delays in closing. So the sad thing is now that people are starting to realize what is available - most of them are almost too late to take advantage of it now - unless they go into overdrive to get the above done. Extending it would be a very good thing, as well as advertising it more fully. When first time home buyers buy up the lower end homes, that frees up those people to then buy the next tier of homes and stabilizes the housing market to some extent. - Thu Jul 30 2009, 09:24
