Dear Starting Over,
In order to qualify for a home mortgage in the current environment you are going to need a mid credit score in of 620 or higher. This may go to 640 soon. Do you have a copy of a recent credit report? If so you could email it to me and I would be happy to review it. There are also a couple of reputable credit education companies that may be able to help you if you are interested I would be happy to provide the information.
