"Dear Tristan,
The "Treehouse" is sold, the money is in the bank, and I am more grateful to you than words can express. But I'll try. You and I first met in 2002, when I viewed the cabin on Spruce as a buyer. The market was hot that summer and you were able to get me in the day before the listing went active. I remember hesitating at first and you coming to the lake to let me know that someone else was delivering an offer just in case I was still interested. I was. So we quickly put something together the next morning. Within weeks, I was the owner of a vacation home in my favorite mountain town and in those first few months of ownership, whenever I had a question about repairs and the like, you were the person I called. And without exception, you were at the ready with an answer or a local referral.
Five years and a divorce later, I found myself needing to sell the cabin a difficult, but necessary decision. The market had changed drastically. Before I had even listed the property, you noticed work going on at The Treehouse and left me a note, advising me that this was not a great time to sell. Still, I knew that I couldn't carry on with two houses and only one income. At the time, your office was in Sonora and I got talked into working with a real estate agent in Twain Harte proper what a mistake! Suffice it to say that after a few more missteps, I finally came to my senses. The house had been on the market for six months with painfully little activity. I listed it with you and we were in escrow within the month. Wow!
But more than that, I felt throughout our dealings that we were truly partners in getting the house sold. At every stage, you made me feel supported in and informed about the process. As a single woman who was selling a house for the first time, this made a huge difference. In these times, it is rare to find someone with the combination of knowledge, experience, and integrity that you bring to your work. In real estate, it is particularly refreshing. I hope you know the extent to which you truly are a treasure to the profession. Please know how grateful I am for everything youve done on my behalf but especially for the candid conversations, the wise counsel, the attention to detail, and the unending good humor. I hope we will know each other for many, many years to come. With warmest wishes and many thanks."
