Stephanie Hernandez answered:
The NACA program is a bit long. They initially put the buyer on a three (3) month probation period before their file gets to underwriting. I have a sister-in law who went through the program and now I have a brother who decided not to go through the program because of the long wait period. He has excellent credit, therefore, he can go to a direct lender and still get a great interest rate. Since I'm a mortgage broker, I will double check his financing documents. His counselor wasn't knowledgeable enough to answer the many question from the first time homebuyer. - Sat May 2 2009, 18:01
