Born and raised in the Bay Area, it is truly the place I call home. I grew up in Los Altos and reside in Sunnyvale with my wife Annie and daughter Lilly. My educational background is in earth sciences and parlayed that into the natural hazard disclosure field after a short stint at the USGS in Menlo Park. After working for a local disclosure company for over 14 years I started my own firm in 2006 called blueNHD. In January 2008, my company was sold to HomeGuard Inc. where I took a position of Vice President of Disclosure Services. I have a passion for working with real estate professionals whether it's a Realtor, broker, title company, lender, buyer or seller.
Many feel the natural hazard disclosure report is just another item to sign off on during the transaction process, but in some cases the information is critical in avoiding lawsuits. The reports can also provide a heads-up to the buyer that the property they may be investing in may have a fault runnning through it, an active landslide on it, or a myriad of other issues that can effect the desirability, remodel of an existing home, and buildability of a plot of land.
If anyone out there has any questions about natural hazards and disclosure in California, please don't hesitate to contact me. You can visit my site at www.homeguardNHD.com for more information.
