I began investing in real estate at the age of 21. Back in 1996 I purchased my first investment property. It was a duplex and after much rehabbing it eventually became home for myself as well as my brother. I went on to purchase and remodel several other properties in the years since.
Upon graduating from the Florida International University School of Business with a dual major in Business Management and Accounting I received several job offers from various prestigious international companies. I took a job as a financial analyst for VISA in their Latin American headquarters in 1998. In 2000 I obtained my Realtor’s license. After three and a half years at VISA and becoming a Certified Public Accountant I began working for the prominent accounting firm of Berkowitz Dick Pollack & Brant in 2002.
I built my first new property and purchased my first commercial property in 2003 while working at BDPB. Despite success as an accountant I still struggled greatly between following my “career” which I had worked very hard to obtain, and following my dream which was to create my own successful real estate development and investment company. After much thinking and careful deliberation I decided to leave the firm in 2004 and engage in my first love full time.
After leaving the firm I obtained my Real Estate Broker’s license. Shortly after I started Empire Development Company of South Florida and obtained my Certified General Contractor’s license. Today I am proud to say I have built 22 homes & remodeled many others with a total construction value of over $7 million.
