Have you considered Decatur? There are several nice neighborhoods in your price point. And it's quick and easy to jump on I-285 at the Athens/Decatur exit to go to Dunwoody. To go downtown is easy too, Take Candler to I-20 or drive straight through town on Ponce de Leon or on College Avenue towards the Freedom Parkway. Decatur has so much to offer with great restaurants, walking spaces, events in the Decatur Square, plus you are smack in the midst of everything intown and not too far to Dunwoody and Perimeter.
