Your bio says Seal Beach, was that where you were thinking of looking? It sounds as if your Wife's job will be in Orange/Santa Ana border. There are two great communities in Santa Ana Floral Park and Park Santiago Zip Code 92706.
If you want to be closer to the beach maybe Costa Mesa's Mesa Verde area. Rossmoor and Seal Beach are commutable as well. Tustin 92780 and North Tustin 92705 have excellent schools, for the most part.
