I would agree with the other responses you have received. It all depends on the timing in the transaction, and to a certain extent, the reason. If you are not represented by a real estate broker than you really should consult a real estate attorney. There are several very good attorneys in the Portland Metropolitan area. If you need a referral you are welcome to contact me, again, if you are not represented by your own broker.
