If it has a well, be sure to have a flow and yield test performed.
I have seen some problems with uneven settling of the foundation due to granite boulders and structures built into sides of hills in some areas of Placitas.
I wouldn't think these would be a reason for abundance of homes on the market, but they are good things to watch out for if you are buying there.
