make sure you have an agent representing you. The attorney or Title Company will check for liens on the property. This is part of what you pay for in your closing costs. Lastly, get title insurance! - Tue Oct 21 2008, 22:39

I hear comflicting advise about investing in Gastonia. Is it a good place to invest or not??Karrie

Gastonia is indeed a good place to invest. Home prices are much lower than in neighboring Charlotte with several bedroom communities such as Belmont and Mt. Holly seeing an increase in values. Gastonia is located in between the Catawba River, Lake Wylie and Crowders Mountain. It is a great place for outdoor enthusiast with the National Whiite Water Center very near by. The City of Gastonia is investing heavily to rebuild it's downtown and there are several new high end developments being built around the lake area. As the city finds itself in a post textile era, I think Gastonia is poised to be a great investment opportunity. - Wed Oct 8 2008, 15:06

How long does it take to know if your approved for an FHA loan?

I am in NC and not Texas but with an FHA loan the requirements should be the same. I have a lender that can get FHA approval in 48 hrs. FHA guidlines are very specific, if the lender gets all the appropriate paper work in order then the approval process should be relatively short. If your lender tells you it could take weeks, you might want to switch lenders. Check with several lenders with the same question before you choose who you work with. - Thu Aug 7 2008, 19:04
