Interesting question, it will depend on several issues. 1. Length of time the property is held. 2. The local governmental agencies decision if the home is in the right area and funds have been earmarked revitalization efforts. This is assuming you are talking about residential properties. Commercial property usually has labor force increase requirements attached to any tax abatement. The first place to start is with your local government agency, the planning commission and ask about revitalization tax credits. They may not call them tax abatements...it means the same thing.
