Good evening. Origionally from NH I can understand how hard the winters can be. My parents moved here for that exact same reason. My father started having a hard time coping with it.
There are a lot of areas I believe your mother would enjoy, but what level of activity is she interested in? Does she want to be in a retirement community or something that provides lots of ways active adults can remain active by ways of walking trails (I say trails, but they are like sidewlks in a parklike setting) seperate adult swimming pool and clubhouse. I presume you would like her to be close to public transportation? If so I would recommend the area of Ballantyne in South Charlotte. There are bus lines and the light rail as well as some of Charlotte's best hospitals and Dr's offices. To remain active and social there is "The Village" with all sorts of goings on during the summer and fall. If she likes botique shopping it's there too!
I specialize in relocation and go over and above what is called for as I know it's not always easy to come here and look for yourself, my camera are your eyes and you have a dedicated webpage to view all the places I have photographed for you.
If you have any other questions or if you would just like to pick my brain, please contact me in any way you are comfortable with.
Talk to you soon!
