Well since you have received great answers below, you should have all you need to make a decision. I think people who live within a 1 mile range learn to live with it. It is something that you get used to. It may not be so bad at all compared to traffic sounds, sirens of a fire company, etc. Is this the neighborhood you like better than the others, is the house better than the others, etc. Some things are more important than sounds that mey be in the faint distance. Park you car and take a long walk one day, see if it really bothers you, if it does, than yo will never like living there no matter how fait the sound. In the end, this is you biggest investment and you don't want to make a decision you are not going to be happy with.
