If a house goes to auction at the court house, how do you know if was sold or not. And if it was not sold, what happens to it?

When the attorney for the lender goes to Sheriff sale the property they buy it back for the taxes. If the seller/owner of the property pays the taxes it stays out of the sale. If it doesn't sell as an absolute sale at auction then it goes back to the county/city and they have to decide what to do with it...
