In my area it's gaining popularity. We also have started a Green Building Council and are promoting NAHB’s green certified program. That program you have to take into account landscaping as well as site design from the start. I’ve also heard that all over NC there are such programs being promoted. So it’s definitely growing in popularity. People wanting more landscaping that doesn’t require a lot of work and the plants to be native and acclimated so they are more likely to live, not spend a ton of money and have them die. Check out NAHBgreen.com and see what applies to landscaping and if you want to try to hit some of that market.
