It may be to your advantage to do so at some point when you are confortable with the broker you are working with as it will allow him or her to show you everything on the market instead of just MLS properties. I would get involved with a broker first, then after you have seen how he or she works, agree to sign a buyer/broker agreement. Don't do it immediately after meeting someone since you have no idea about how hard they will work for you.
