Operations Manager for MGA October 1970—November 1974
Responsible for processing incoming orders for product and allocating product to dealers and salesforce. Worked directly with traffic and floor planning on daily basis to develop strategies to optimize market penetration and seamless flow of product to our vendors. Prepared analysis of vendor performance and capabilities for enhanced growth opportunities and revisions based on performance for the marketing department. Corresponded with the main office of Mitsubishi in Tokyo, Japan, to develop long term future strategies. Implemented computer systems and restructured company internal systems so that all departments communicated and worked together on the same platform sharing information for maximum efficiency and productivity. Reduced waste in operations by giving department heads more authority to suggest and implement changes as experience revealed. Created sales campaigns in Chicago with Carson Pirie Scott which became annual events featuring MGA products exclusively and most notably the Memorial Day and Labor Day Weekend Warehouse Sales.
