8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has been attending Overall Creek going on 2 years. Although we had a rocky start with her teacher last school year. I can say they do have a hand full of teachers that love on their students and care. I do feel she learned the minimum last year. Not sure if it was the teacher's style of teaching or the class was just moving too fast (I think both) but we made it. As a parent I am heavily engaged with my child's learning. She goes to an outside source for math and reading to make sure she's keeping up with her studies. But that's not the problem. Last year I couldn't wait for her to move up because of the bullying from a little boy in the classroom. Everyday there was a new issue. Now again new year, new teacher, new kids, and the problem is "Bullying" and "Ugly" remarks from other students again!! But when reported my child states the teachers don't believe her. When she reports it, nothing is done. The other day a child (boy) tried to bite her on her arm in the cafeteria, so she immediately hit him and told him to stop! Instead of the other child getting reprimanded for his actions my daughter gets in trouble for defining herself. In my book "Bullying" will NOT be tolerated! I have taught her to not accept bullying and I will not start later. She knows to treat everyone with kindness, because if you know her that's just the type of child she is (nice and caring to everyone no matter how rude or mean they are to her). At some point as a teacher, you have to ask yourself if that was your child "what would you do or say?" As I am sure most would say tell a teacher but how can you tell a teacher if you allow a child to bite you (without stopping them first) and they are allowed to embed their teeth into your arm? Insane right? So yes, I applauded her for defending herself and I will do it again (believe she knows hitting is not tolerated unless you are defending yourself)! Next, there's another child (boy) who has been harassing her continuously in the cafeteria, which I have told her numerous of times, she is NOT allowed to communicate with him because it's evident he just likes to harass her to try and get her in trouble.Parent Review2mo ago - Check out schools near 1720 Frodo Way #146.
