I bought a house in this district in 2016 because I wanted my kids to attend a good school. At the time there was a lot of hype around the school. By the time my children were attending the school it was overcrowded. This led to an extreme drop in quality. My child's third grade class was a blend of two classes with somewhere around 40 kids in one room. So of course there is no time for individual attention. My child's grades and behavior suffered as a result. We decided enough was enough. The dream that was Hardin Valley had passed already. We moved to a nearly unknown district where my children now get the attention they need. So my recommendation is don't believe the hype.

I went to Hardin Valley a few years back and it was a great experience but it has gone downhill. With the new principal and staff my siblings have faced discrimination. Recently I went to the school and encountered a rude office staff. I wasn’t aware one couldn’t bring drinks from the outside and she gave me attitude about it, when I had told her I didn’t know. She proceeded to say “she wasn’t going to allow it” and looked down on me for not knowing. Before office staff were so nice and kind, now everything is changing.

This school is great for students seeking help with their academics. Students are monitored on their Chromebooks and are provided with the resources to step up their grades, with less homework, they get time to spend with their families. One thing that I obscurely dislike is how they block almost every site that's available, it's like they don't want students to learn from others that had the same issues. Overall, I would give this school a 3.5, the Teachers an extremely nice, and students get the opportunity to play instruments and sing.
