5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have two children that go to Fruitvale as 4th graders and have been going there since they were 2nd graders and i will honestly say that it has been an absolute blessing that our kids were able to attend Fruitvale. Myself and my wife are both full time working parents and we have gotten nothing but "The Best" support from Ms Brooks an her staff at Fruitvale Elementary. Ms. Brooks and her staff are always so quick to notify us if there is anything going on with either one of our children at school. Their staff have welcomed my children in with open arms and i feel like our children are like family at Fruitvale. One of our kids is an I.E.P student and Ms Brooks and her staff have gone above an beyond in helping both our children to reach their prespective goals while at Fruitvale. Myself and my wife have driven around the immediate area here in Hemet looking at other elementary schools and we can honestly say that there is no other place where we would want our kids to attend elementary school. #fruitvaleisthebest#Parent Review8y ago - Tahquitz High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school strongly discourage parent involvement. And, when you do contact teachers or administrators, or question actions or methods, they will discriminate against your student and harass your student. The math department is awful. 80% of the grade is based on tests and they have their own workbook with no examples or instruction. So, the instruction is all done in class. So, when the students do their homework, they would have to look something up online, yet the teachers teach it a different way. The math department head is horrible and they have awful methods. Even the order they teach the math is bad. They don't give the proper base first - they do the complex work first, then later in the year teach the base which helps explain that complex item. There is a reason why they have such a LOW performance in math, less than 10%. Students or parents better be good at math so they can teach themselves, if they want to succeed, as they aren't going to learn it in the math classes. And, they will work on a subject for 4-5 weeks, then have 3-4 questions on a test. If a student misses one question, they can possibly fail, depending on the point value of that one. The methods aren't made for the students to learn - they don't go over what they did wrong and work with the students on reworking problems the correct way. And, there is no innovation in their math teaching methods. And, they don't use real-world examples so the students find it hard to relate to what they are learning as they don't see realistic examples of how the math is used.Except for that, other departments at this school are great. The sciences, language arts, and social sciences are creative and focused on the students not only learning the material but enjoying what they are learning. The principal is fantastic and most of the teachers really care about the students. But, it is just this math department which uses awful techniques and methods, not conducive to student learning. Also, the school doesn't allow parents to be part of the decision making process when selecting courses. They just contact the student and the parent isn't even notified that course decisions were made or what those decisions are, and they aren't allowed to know until the first day of school, even though these decisions are made 6 months in advance when a counselor meets with a student. Other schools send the course selection worksheet home so parents can consult with their student.Parent Review8mo ago - Rancho Viejo Middle School

"There are a lot homeless and people who seem to be on drugs in Hemet. The neighborhood Walmart has mostly minority products locked behind glass. This week the local Walmart has installed one way gates located inside the store to block consumers from exiting. Soliciting for Tamales, washing of your windows and petitions are a daily practice."

"An extremely boring and dangerous place and expensive to live at. I dont recommend living here. the streets are horrible and way too many homeless people which people need to help these people get back on their feet. Also they only focus on fixing the Florida street instead of fixing other streets that are badly damaged. Just don't even bother moving over here since it ain't getting better. "
