Dave Matthews, the musician who has seen off-the-charts success as frontman of “The Dave Matthews Band,” has just put some of that music money to work — the singer just paid $6,575,000 for a six-bedroom, five-and-a-half bathroom estate in Malibu, according to The Real Estalker. That’s mere pocket change for a guy whose band is one the highest grossing groups of all time. During the period from 2000 to 2010, the Dave Matthews Band sold more tickets and earned more money than any other act in North America. Even more than ‘N Sync, Britney Spears, and the rest of the red-hot pop stars of that time.

Since Matthews has made big money in the music biz, he’s investing in real estate. This most recent purchase is a ‘European Country Estate’ in a prime Malibu location. Situated on 1.78 acres of rare flat land in the sought after Point Dume area, the newly renovated home clocks in at approximately 7,000 square feet. The property also features a pool, spa, and Riviera III beach rights down to Little Dume Beach. Additionally, the estate comes with active plans and permits with the City of Malibu for a 900-square-foot guest house — a recording studio, perhaps? Extensive gardens and an apple orchard round out the large parcel’s lush grounds, which also offer plenty of space for a tennis court and/or horses.

Matthews also owns a modest home in Seattle, Washington, and 11 homes in and around Charlottesville, Virginia.

Since their heyday as Hollywood’s ‘it’ couple following the ’80s hit movie, “Crocodile Dundee,Paul Hogan and his longtime wife and former co-star, Linda Kozlowski, have been busy climbing the property ladder. Last July, we reported that the real estate power couple bought a five-bedroom, six-bath pad for $3,800,000, after listing another palatial Malibu home in February 2012 for $6,475,000.

After only six months, the Hogans are ready to sell their most recent purchase — the 6,382 square foot estate nestled in a prime location in Malibu — which was impeccably revamped in 2012, blending modern European sensibility with the home’s existing Victorian elegance. Featuring spectacular ocean views, the property is designed to let in plenty of natural light. The gourmet chef’s kitchen boasts top-of-the-line appliances, while the master suite includes a sitting area, two large walk-in closets, and a private lanai. Jean-Claude Van Damme Drops $6 Million on Marina Del Ray Mansion

International film star and all-around bad ass Jean-Claude Van Damme bought a Damme nice house in the summer of 2012. Property records show that the star fighter/actor paid $6,000,000 for the sleek waterfront home in Marina Del Ray, CA, in July, though the home was listed for $5,850,000. Luxury real estate can be a real ‘Bloodsport,’ so it’s likely Jean-Claude engaged in a heated bidding war over the incredible pad, as he paid well over the asking price.

Van Damme’s big-time acting dollars were put to good use, though, scoring him a brand new, modern home. The property has six bedrooms and eight-and-a-half bathrooms — including a deluxe master suite with his-and-hers baths and a steam shower. There’s also a commercial elevator, bar, library/office, billiard room, gym, rec room, 3D home theater, state-of-the-art Sonos audio system, eight fireplaces, an exceptional kitchen, open floor plan, and ocean views. But our favorite feature is the rooftop hangout, complete with an organic garden, swim jet hydro spa, fire pits, and multiple waterfalls.

Sounds like Van Damme’s new pad is a good place to “kick” it.

On the third level is an enormous family room with large wet bar, full bathroom, and two more large decks–one perfect for outdoor dining and the other great for enjoying the sun with a hot tub, outdoor fireplace, and views of the Venice canals. Ellen and Portia have just taken another ride on the real estate merry-go-round. The married duo have just sold the Malibu beach home that they purchased from Brad Pitt 7 short months ago. According to The Real Estalker and public records, Ellen and Portia purchased the home for $12M in December 2011 and sold the home in June 2012 for $13M to cosmetics entrepreneur Victoria Jackson. That’s a nice profit after less than a year of ownership.

What’s the skinny on Ellen and Portia’s dearly departed Malibu manse? The ‘house that Brad built‘ is fully equipped with its own private beach entrance. The combined living space is made up of two separate homes overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Point Mugu State Park and features stunning panoramic views throughout. The grounds include a tennis court, pool, and lavish landscaping, allowing for privacy. The property boasts a very modern design with glass walls, sleek ceiling, over sized chandeliers, and stainless steel appliances.

The duo seemed to have made the buying and selling of real estate an expensive hobby of theirs. They recently sold their massive Beverly Hills compound to Ryan Seacrest to the tune of about $37.5M. They then bought the former Beverly Hills home of Hollywood mega-producer Robert Cort for $17.4M. They also have an equestrian estate in Hidden Hills on the market for $16.5M.Dizzy yet?

Got $5 Million? If so, you could be singing ‘It’s 5 o’clock somewhere” from the deck of Alan Jackson‘s stunning Smithville, Tennessee lake house. According to the Wall Street Journal, Alan Jackson and his wife are selling their longtime lakefront spread because “their three daughters have grown older and they don’t use the house as often as a family.” Additionally, Jackson and his wife Denise are re-evaluating their plans for the future after she beat cancer last year.

If the Jackson family is aiming for a simpler life, than it’s a no-brainer that they are selling this tricked-out waterfront home that features a 5-bedroom Hamptons-style main residence, a 4-bedroom guesthouse, a 1 bedroom cabin, a 2-story houseboat, private boat dock and a helipad atop a 3-car garage!

If that’s not enough, the for-sale Jackson family spread also includes a 1-acre building site. The magnificent, gated property clocks in at 3.5 acres and features breathtaking views and would be prime real estate for a well-heeled family who may want to create their very own vacation compound.

Guess Hogan doesn’t know best after all, at least when it comes to real estate. Former Wrestlemania super-star, Hulk Hogan (real name: Terry Bollea) sold his 17,145 square foot Tudor-style mansion in Bellaire, FL for $6.2 million. The property has been on and off the market since 2006 and was originally listed for $25 million, then discounted to $9.24 million in July 2011.

It sits on an acre and a half of land,  high on a bluff with views of the Intracoastal Waterway and Clearwater Pass to the Gulf of Mexico.

The new owner, who ever he/she may be, must love water sports because this home caters to swimmers and boat-lovers alike. The property features a beautifully landscaped pool and spa, as well as a dock and two boat lifts and “space for a personal watercraft” – a.k.a you can park your yacht here, no questions asked.
