Mega-successful TV writer and producer Shonda Rhimes, of Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice and Scandal fame, has another hit on her hands: a brand new $8.8 million-dollar compound in Los Angeles’ Hancock Park neighborhood.

Rhimes closed on the 6 bedroom, 6 bathroom, 8,398 square foot compound on February 4, 2014 – a mere 9 months after ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ actress Patricia Heaton sold the place in May 2013 for $8 million.

Heaton decamped to a swank $5.4M pad in Toluca Lake, and the buyers of her former home flipped it back on the market with an asking price of $8.99M in November of the same year!

The Italianate Mediterranean gated estate was designed by the famed architect Elmer Grey, which may hint at why this house is so in-demand! On a nearly 50,000 square foot lot, the massive home has lots of room for Rhimes and her 3 young daughters. Inside, the home not only has 6 bedrooms, but it also includes 2 offices and a great bonus room upstairs – a perfect playroom for the girls!

Downstairs, the home has primo living and dining rooms, a chic library and just a what Shonda needs – a  family wing with gourmet kitchen, family room overlooking the pool and lush grounds with a paddle tennis court. The property also has a guest house and a screening room over the 4 car garage!

With all those amenities, we dare you to find something this house doesn’t have!

On this deal, June Ahn of Coldwell Banker represented the sellers and Ed Solorzano of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices was Rhimes’ agent.

A media mogul in the making, Rhimes not only now owns this $8.8 million-dollar home, but she also owns two other properties in Los Angeles! The first is a 6 bed, 9 bath, 8,292 square foot home she paid $5.6M for in March 2010 and the second is a 6 bedroom, 4 bathroom, 4,995 square foot pad she paid $1.66M for in July 2007.

Peter Facinelli may have moved on romantically after his divorce from Jennie Garth, but when it comes to his real estate portfolio, he’s pretty much right where he was before.

According to property records, Facinelli paid $2,015,000 for a gorgeous, brand new Toluca Lake home right down the street from the home he and Garth shared for 10 years. The now-divorced duo’s former marital home sold to “The Big Bang Theory” co-creator Bill Prady for $3.99 million.

Downsizing but not skimping on luxurious amenities, Facinelli’s new home is a newly-built modernized traditional with 5 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. Highlights include an open floor plan that allows seamless flow from the fabulous kitchen to a large family room with a built-in entertainment center and glass doors leading out to a private grassy yard with saltwater pool and spa.

Most bedrooms are found upstairs, as well as a bonus room that’d make a perfect gym or office. The master suite is expansive and the master bath has white marble vanity with dual Kohler sinks, large glass shower and luxurious spa tub.

Facinelli is currently dating actress Jamie Alexander, whom he met on the set of the TV show Nurse Jackie.

The late, great Bob Hope‘s incredible Toluca Lake estate has just hit the market for the first time ever!

The home at 10346 Moorpark St, is a former walnut orchard where Bob and Delores Hope built their dream mansion in 1939. Bob Hope died in 2003 at the age of 100 and his widow Dolores Hope died in 2011 at 102 years old.

Now, the couple’s estate has put the home on the market with a $27.5 million dollar asking price. The Tolucan reported the imminent listing in November 2012, when a garage sale was held to clear out many of the Hope’s belongings.

The walled, gated and private Toluca Lake compound consists of 4 parcels totaling 5.16 acres. The original English Traditional main home was designed by architect Robert Finkelhor and then remodeled in the 1950′s by architect John Elgin Woolf. The home is 14,876 square feet and includes an indoor pool and spa. A formal reception and foyer leads to a vast formal living room with walls of glass overlooking the grounds.

The residence also includes an office, family room, bar, billiard room, formal dining room, family dining room and chef’s kitchen. Upstairs, you’ll find 4 bedroom suites and a remarkable master wing with his and hers bedrooms, bathrooms, closets and a shared study.

The 5+ acre grounds feature an outdoor pool, patios, motorcourts, sprawling lawns with 1-hole golf course, pristine gardens. Also on that property is a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom guesthouse and a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom staff quarters.

Jennifer Love Hewitt is looking to spend her summer partying in her modern new abode in Pacific Palisades. First revealed by the incomparable Real Estalker and property records show that Miss Hewitt paid $3,250,000 on April 25, 2013. Prior to buying this stunning architectural gem in April, J Love sold a home in Toluca Lake that was the primary residence of her recently deceased mother. Jennifer lived just down the street and likely needed a change of scenery after her mom passed away.

She’s finding it in her hip and sexy retreat in Pacific Palisades, which was redone in 2007 and designed by well-regarded  architect Melinda Gray.

Outside, the home has a private, sparkling spa-style pool surrounded by bamboo, as well as a fire pit, fireplace, flat screen, lounging area and more.

Inside, Hewitt’s new home has hardwood floors and an open floor plan that gives it that soothing organic and urban feel. The house has 4 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms spread out over 2,872 square feet.

Beloved TV mom Patricia Heaton has just bought a stunning new estate in Toluca Lakes, CA for $5.4 million. While she’s busy moving into the her new digs, she’s also awaiting the official close of the sale of her Hancock Park estate, which was listed for $8,295,000 and is currently in escrow for an unknown price.

Heaton’s stunning new home was purchased on March 7, 2013, according to public records. The  5 bed, 7 bath, 7,649 square foot home has a gourmet kitchen, den, library, office and an elevator to get between the two expansive floors. The gorgeous outdoor grounds feature a pool, spa and pool house!

Heaton is decamping from her bigger and more expensive Los Angeles- area, Elmer Gray-designed pad, which she bought on October 18, 2001 for $4,850,000. That house is about to change hands to a new owner and comes complete with 6 bedroom, 6 bathrooms and 8,398 square feet. She’s sure to make a profit on this one, which is a nice change from ANOTHER real estate transaction she closed on late last year. In October 2012, Heaton got only $865,000 for a 2-bed, 2-bath condo she purchased on March 16, 2007 for $1,145,000.

Despite her loss, Heaton’s still coming out on top and has a stunning new Toluca Lakes mansion to prove it.

Haylie Duff, teeny-bopper-movie actress and sister to Hilary Duff, just sold her chic, semi-modest (by celeb standards, anyway) Toluca Lake home at a slight loss. Property records show that Haylie bought the five-bedroom, six-bathroom, 4,064-square-foot home on June 6, 2008, for $1,750,000. And though it was originally listed for $1,799,000, the elder Duff sister took a $30,000 loss on her bachelorette pad when she sold it on February 14, 2013, for $1,720,000.

Built in 2007, the New England traditional home sits behind privacy gates — perfect for any young Hollywood starlet — in the heart of Toluca Lake. The neighborhood, situated 12 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles, is an up-and-coming celebrity enclave that sister Hilary Duff, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Alan Thicke, and oodles of other household names call home.

Duff’s just-sold crib is an entertainer’s dream with a built-in sound system pumping beats throughout the dramatic living room, formal dining room (with coffered ceiling and French doors), and open great room, out to a covered flagstone patio, which overlooks the grassy yard with pool and spa. The family room — which boasts a fireplace and French doors — opens to a chefs’ kitchen with Carrara marble counters, tongue-and-groove ceilings, dual islands, a Viking stove, and a breakfast area featuring wood floors, crown mouldings, and wainscoting.

All bedrooms have their own private baths, and the downstairs bedroom suite may be ideal for guests. A sky lit staircase ascends to the second level, where the luxurious master suite offers a cathedral ceiling, fireplace, dual walk-in closets, and bath with two vanities, a frameless glass shower, and freestanding soaking tub.

A quick peek at IMBD shows that Haylie has been keeping the paychecks coming in with a series of low-visibility movie gigs and television series appearances. No telling why she sold, but we’re keeping our eyes out for her next move.

Jennifer Love Hewitt has just sold her longtime Toluca Lake home for $2.15M: according to public records, the home just closed on December 13, 2012. Perfect for a party (or family) of five, the spacious 5,921 square foot home features 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. Hewitt has owned the home since 1998, originally paying $1.7M for the private and secure home on one of Toluca Lake’s most desirable streets. The actress just pocketed $450,000 in the deal.

Described as “gracious and inviting,” the home has a wonderful flow for both living and entertaining. The generous floor plan is versatile, with an outdoor pool area featuring a large patio, complete with built-in bar. There are custom, quality features throughout, as well as high ceilings, built-in bookcases, marble fireplaces, expansive closets, and more.

This particular home hasn’t been JLH’s personal residence for quite a while, so she probably won’t miss it now that it’s gone. The actress still lives in Toluca Lake in a lake-front home purchased in January 2006 for $5.5M.
