CBS Chairman and CEO Leslie Moonves and his wife, TV personality Julie Chen, have just purchased a beachfront Malibu estate from Microsoft co-founder (and billionaire) Paul Allen, paying $28,800,000. The deal closed on April 2, 2014 – just in time for summer!

The massive home has 5 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, 5,794 square feet, and sits on prime beachfront property on Malibu’s exclusive and coveted Carbon Beach. Allen purchased the home on June 9, 2010 for $25,067,500.

Leslie and Julie are upgrading their lives in Malibu, trading a 3 bedroom, 4 bathroom, 3,014 square foot home on La Costa Beach for their new Carbon Beach digs. Their former Malibu estate is on the market with a $12,995,000 price tag.

Creedence Clearwater Revival rocker John Fogerty just sold his massive Beverly Hills estate for $18.6 million!

The home popped up as an off-market ‘pocket listing’ with a $23 million price tag in July 2013.

Nearly 9 months later, a buyer swooped in and made an offer significantly under asking, and the deal closed on March 21, 2014. While Fogerty didn’t exactly sell it for a song, it was $4.4 less than what he’d hope to sell it for.

Purchased by the “Proud Mary” rocker on November 20, 2002 for $2,900,000, the home at 2553 Summitridge Dr. had 5 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms and 13,476 square feet at the time he bought it. 10 years later, the home has undergone some extensive renovations that added an additional 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and 2,500 square feet to the residence.

Now, the home sits on 3 meticulously landscaped acres and features a gated entrance and circular motor court with fountain leading to the garage motor court. Inside,  16,000 square feet of living space includes 9 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a 2-story foyer with fireplace, double-barrel vaulted main hallway, formal living room with fireplace, formal dining room with wine room, gourmet kitchen, 2-story family room with fireplace, wood paneled library with fireplace, home theater, 2nd floor lounge with wet bar, 4+ car garage and more.

Outside, the property has an incredible entertainer’s yard with a covered loggia with fireplace, mosaic-tiled swimming pool with spa, expansive patio, children’s playground and outdoor dining and cooking areas. There is also a separate guest house with 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, living room and kitchen.

Fogerty has since moved on to a 7 bedroom, 13,053 square foot estate in Thousand Oaks, CA that he purchased for $9 million in May 2013.

Kourtney Kardashian and longtime boyfriend Scott Disick have just sold their home in Calabasas!

According to the Los Angeles Times, Kourtney and Scott found a buyer and made a deal for $2,975,000, which is less than their $3,499,000 asking price, but still a nice $1.2M more than the $1.7M that they paid for the 4 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom, 5,199 square foot Colonial-style abode in December 2010.

Kourtney and interior designer Jeff Andrews spent months meticulously decorating the home in a style that Disick describes as “Alice in Wonderland meets Beetlejuice.”  The buyer was smitten with some of their decor choices, as the LA Times is also reporting that the buyer paid an additional $125,000 for select furnishings.

Parting with the home will be tough for Kourtney, who told Domaine.com that she loves “every single thing about this house, but I’m excited to take on a new project.”

She’s already found that next big project: she and Scott recently purchased retired NFL star Keyshawn Johnson’s estate just down the street, paying $8.495,000 to upgrade to the 8 bedroom, 9 bathroom, 11,746 square foot home.

When Kourtney and Scott listed this just-sold home, they said it was because they needed more space. “Our family is bigger since we moved in,” Kourtney told Domaine.com. “I’d like to have a guest room and more space outside for the kids.” They’re definitely getting that coveted space in their new 1.86 acre property.

Another bonus? A built-in babysitting nearby. Recently-divorced sister Khloe Kardashian just bought Justin Bieber’s house down the street!

‘Guy’s guy’ actor Vince Vaughn just helped out former USC football coach Lane Kiffin by taking his high-priced Manhattan Beach mansion off his hands, paying $6,447,000 for the place.

First reported by the Los Angeles Times, the ‘Wedding Crashers’ and ‘Old School’ actor was identified as the buyer for Kiffin’s 7,308 square foot Craftman-style home, which sold on February 28, 2014. The pad has 6 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms and a world-class backyard that features a large salt water pool and spa, fire pit, guest house, outdoor kitchen, large, gated dog run and mature landscaping.

Inside the home, Vaughn will now be able to stare at soaring ceilings, a country-style kitchen with commercial-grade appliances and a large family room.

Kiffin was fired as head coach of the USC football program in September 2013, after the season started with an abysmal 3-2 record. A brutal blowout loss at Arizona State sealed his fate. He has since moved on to a role as offensive coordinator for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

As for Vaughn, things couldn’t be better. He and his wife recently welcomed their second child and have been on a bit of a real estate roll as of late. Less than a year ago, they spent nearly $4 million for a home in La Canada Flintridge, and in July 2013, he put his Chicago apartment up for rent for $9,500 a month.

Kelly Osbourne, the purple-haired progeny of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, has just sold her charming West Hollywood home for $1,300,000.

After listing the home for $1,349,000 in February 2014, Osbourne found a buyer willing to pay just below asking price.

It’s been a year of big changes for Osbourne, and selling this home was part of her quest for a fresh start. The E! Fashion Police co-host just split from fiance Matthew Mosshart in January 2014, after meeting at Kate Moss’ 2011 wedding and dating for two years.

Now that Kelly’s newly single and in the midst of a booming career, she’s parted ways with the 1 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 1,250 square foot home she purchased on February 16, 2005. Property records show she paid $1,195,000 for the place 9 years ago.

Designed by Robert Byrd in 1952, Kelly’s former home is beautifully detailed throughout and completed updated. With oodles of windows, the home has wonderful light and views.

The kitchen is outfitted in the best appliances on the market and the adjacent living area and separate den open onto a lush private garden with chic entertaining areas.

Reports from summer 2013 say that Kelly hasn’t lived at this home in many months. She reportedly moved into Lindsey Lohan’s former Beverly Hills rental in April 2013, paying $10,400 a month!

Jonah Wilson of Hilton Hyland was Kelly’s listing agent and the deal closed on March 11, 2014.

                $22,000,000

Retired MLB slugger Barry Bonds just hit it out of the (Beverly) Park!

The controversial home run king sold his massive Tuscan-inspired pad in the ultra-fancy Beverly Park area of Beverly Hills for $22 million. Property records show the deal closed on March 5, 2014 – 14 months after Bonds put the incredible estate up to bat for $25 million.

Inside sources say he had his eye on that initial $25 million list price for two reasons. First – and most importantly – he’d make an insane profit, considering he spent $8.7 million for the house in 2002. Secondly, Bonds gave the Mediterranean stunner a $25M price tag as an homage to his former jersey number – 25, which he considers to be his lucky number.

Lucky or not to him, it wasn’t the number buyers were willing to pay for the 1.85 acre, seven-bedroom, 13-bathroom manse. He price-chopped the home to $23.5M in December 2013 and finally signed a contract with a buyer at $22 million.

Bond’s just-sold estate was a faux Tuscan villa in the heart of Los Angeles’s most desirable area. Fully renovated, Bonds added 30-ft soaring ceilings in the grand entry foyer, gorgeous hand-painted Trompe L’oeil murals, and Venetian plaster throughout. The home boasts over 17,000 square feet of living space and unparalleled California living.

Outside, the grounds feature over 2,000 square feet of spacious loggias, a pool and cabana, and 2-story guest house.

Love him or hate him – there’s no in between – Barry Bonds is one of the biggest sports characters of the last two decades. Rocketing to superstardom in Pittsburgh and helping make a forlorn franchise a regular in the playoffs while winning his first league MVP award, Bonds made it clear he had all the tools to become one of the greats. He took his talents back to Northern California in 1993, where he was born and raised, to play for the San Francisco Giants and resurrected that franchise while winning 6 additional MVP awards (4 in a row at one point), leading the team to the World Series in 2002, and cementing his place in baseball history. Of course, this was before the BALCO scandal and perjury investigation which has cast a shadow over Bonds’ mountain of accomplishments to the chagrin of some and the delight of others.

Khloe Kardashian just bought Justin Bieber’s Calabasas mansion!

According to an exclusive report from US Weekly, multiple sources have confirmed that the youngest Kardashian sister has just spent $7.2M on Bieber’s home in The Oaks, a gated community in Calabasas.

Khloe recently sold the Tarzana, CA home she shared with estranged husband Lamar Odom to ‘Big Bang Theory’ actress Kaley Cuoco and her new husband Ryan Sweeting. After many months of marital turmoil and a divorce filing in December 2013, Khloe was ready to move on from her former life with Lamar and into some brand new digs.

Before Khloe came a-knocking with some serious cash, Bieber purchased the sprawling home in 2012. He quietly (and secretly) put it on the market after some highly publicized and heated run-ins with his neighbors, including an egging incident that resulted in a police raid and a serious felony vandalism investigation.

Bieber has given up on the sleepy community of Calabasas and moved into a rented mansion in Atlanta, but the Kardashians are doubling down. Mom Kris Jenner lives in nearby Hidden Hills with sisters Kendall and Kylie, and older sister Kourtney recently upgraded her Calabasas living situation by buying retired NFL star Keyshawn Johnson’s home, which is just a couple doors down from the home Khloe just bought from the Biebs.

Kourtney and boyfriend Scott Disick also have their former Calabasas mansion on the market with a $3,999,000 price tag.

                    Price

                    $5,000,000

Mitzi Shore, the famed owner of The Comedy Store on LA’s Sunset Strip (and Pauly Shore’s mom), has just sold her longtime home in Los Angeles.

Listed by the downsizing octogenarian for $5.8 million in August 2013, the deal just closed for an even $5 million on February 7, 2014.

Mitzi Shore is known by many in the funny business as the maker and breaker of comedy careers. From the 1970s to the 1990s, Mitzi nurtured the budding starts of many well-known comedians and late night talk show hosts, including David Letterman, Jay Leno, Jim Carrey, Chris Rock, Chelsea Handler, Richard Pryor, and Robin Williams.

Reports suggest that Shore sold the home because she’s in declining health and looking to cut back on her holdings. Mitzi has already handed off the day-to-day management of her famous comedy club to her family — which has resulted in a pretty scandalous and un-funny lawsuit between her two sons.

When Mitzi listed the home last summer, it was the first time that the legendary Old Hollywood estate has been on the market since she bought it 40 years ago. Prior to Shore’s long-term residency in the estate, the villa in the Hollywood Hills was once home to 1940′s-era singer/movie star Dorothy Lamour.

Built in 1936, this ivy-covered European Villa includes five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and sits on one of the largest flat lots in the area — a rare and desirable asset for homes located in the Hollywood Hills. While loaded with character and charm on the outside, the home will need a lot of TLC on the inside. According to the listing description, this home needs “to be fully restored/rebuilt.”

Kurt Rappaport of the Westside Estate Agency represented both the buyer and the seller on this deal.

                      $1,405,000

Actor Ryan Reynolds has just sold his home high above the Sunset Strip for $1,405,000 – a loss of $310,000.

The home was purchased by the actor in October 2007 for $1,715,000. After holding onto the home for nearly 7 years, Reynolds listed the place for sale, so he could close that chapter of his life and be fully invested in his new life in Bedford, NY with new wife Blake Lively.

Not unlike a messy breakup, it took a considerable amount of time for Ryan to be fully untangled from this Los Angeles home. He placed it on the open market in the fall of 2009 with an asking price of $1,900,000. The home wasn’t in as high demand as Ryan Reynolds himself, so he took it off the market six months later.

It came back onto the market in July 2011 with an asking price of $1,690,000. With no movement, Reynolds was forced to chop another $91,000 off, to bring the asking price to $1,599,000. No buyer stepped up, so Reynolds took the home off the market until July 2013, when it popped back onto the market with the same $1,599,000 asking price he was hoping to get in 2011. 2.5 years and another $100,000 price chop later, market conditions worked in Reynold’s favor and he was able to find a buyer willing to pay $1,405,000, and the deal closed on January 4, 2014.

The home’s listing describes it as a “sophisticated Hollywood Hills private home…at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac.” The home boasts a private entrance though walled and gated courtyard. Amenities include a newer roof, hardwood floors, solar heating, tank-less water heater and French doors throughout. The 1,789 square feet includes 2 bedrooms, 2.5 remodeled bathrooms, and a cook’s kitchen. The home is ideal for indoor/outdoor living with a gorgeous patio for entertaining and a landscaped yard with walkways overlooking canyon views.

Annie Challis of Keller Williams represented Reynolds as his listing agent.
