NASCAR crew chief for #20 The Home Depot car
6 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, 13,000 square feet, lakefront, private dock
NASCAR racing crew chief Greg Zipadelli is waving the checkered flag on his incredible North Carolina lake house, listing it for sale for $6.8 million.
Zapadelli made a major name (and fortune) for himself as the longtime crew chief for the #20 Home Depot car for Joe Gibbs Racing drivers Tony Stewart and Joey Logano from 1999 to 2011. He won 34 races and two championships in 2002 and 2005 as a crew chief.
Now, Zapadelli is looking for a buyer to speed on over and make an offer on the lakefront estate located near the Greg Norman-designed Trump National Golf Course that he scooped up in May 2007 for $1,175,000.
The Tudor-style home has over 13,000 square feet of living space and stunning views of Lake Norman. The 6-bedroom, 9-bathroom gated residence features an “open flow” floor plan. Highlights of the incredible estate include an expansive eat-in, double-island gourmet kitchen, a master bedroom with a two-story closet, a gym and a large master bathroom with built-in microwave, dishwasher and fridge.
Outside, you’ll find views of the lake and a private dock. Aside from the lake, there’s also a pool with a hot tub, as well as an outdoor kitchen, bathroom and fireplace, making this a perfect venue for hosting guests. If that wasn’t enough, the basement is furnished with a full kitchen, wine cellar and theater.
Carol Hampton of JLK Realty and Ben Moss of The Campins Company share the listing.

Age-defting actress with a multi-decade career
4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom, 2,998 square feet, pool
Age-defying actress Andie MacDowell has sold her beautiful home in North Carolina and just bought in Marina Del Rey, California. Property records show that MacDowell sold her country club home in Asheville, North Carolina way back on May 18, 2012 for $3,000,000. It was first listed for $4,500,000. She has originally paid $790,000 on November 7, 2001 for the 6 bedroom, 7.5 bathroom, 9,400 square foot home.
Back on the West Coast, property records reveal that MacDowell paid $1,775,000 for a 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom, 2,998 square foot Cape Cod-style home on a corner lot in Marina Del Rey’s Silver Strand area. It was a done deal on February 15, 2013.
Let’s dig into the details of her new purchase, shall we?
Marketed as “modern and spacious with a loft-like interior,” the stark white, and rather uninspired home, has soaring ceilings, skylights and large glass sliding doors, which illuminate the house with natural light and let the ocean breezes flow in. One of four bedrooms is tucked away, making it perfect for guest quarters. The other three bedrooms are upstairs and include an oversized master with spiral staircase leading to an impressive double loft area and master bath. Outside is a relaxing space with sparkling pool to lounge in on warm California days.

In Asheville, North Carolina, you’ll find the newly for-sale home of Andie MacDowell, the famous face of L’oreal and actress from well-known flicks like Groundhog Day, Multiplicity and St. Elmo’s Fire.

Her original purchase included two vacant and adjacent parcels totaling 1.89 acres on the 7th fairway of the neighboring country club. MacDowell proceeded to build a magnificent, four-story, storybook Tudor that measures in at 10,872 square-feet. Now for sale with a list price of $4,500,000, the home includes 6-bedrooms, 7.5-bathrooms and 6 fireplaces.
