Armand Marciano, co-creator of the Guess? Jeans empire, has put his Beverly Crest-area estate back on the market for $54.5 million. That’s quite a chop from the $63 million he was asking for the estate two years ago.

Built in 2001 and set on nearly 20 acres overlooking the city, the Mediterranean-style mansion clocks in at 30,000 square feet of space that spans three stories. It features seven bedrooms, 13 full bathrooms and nine-and-a-half baths and includes an elevator, nine fireplaces, a wine cellar, and parking for 27 cars.

Standard for an estate of this size, the home has staff quarters with three bedrooms and a separate full kitchen.

The interiors have been designed for modern lifestyles, yet pay homage to timeless European elegance, which include a formal living room, dining room, library, commercial-grade gourmet kitchen, breakfast nook, family room, gym, game room, projection screening room and wine cellar.

According to the listing, “the grounds inspire the kind of serenity found in the world’s most secluded villas, with immaculate lawns and gardens, orchards, fountains, a mosaic-tiled swimming pool, outdoor pavilion, pool house with kitchen and pizza oven, tennis court and pavilion, walking paths and a view to envy.”

      7 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, 19,500 square feet

Fashion Mogul Georges Marciano has just listed his glamourous old Hollywood estate at 1000 North Crescent Drive in Beverly Hills. The French-born businessman built his fortune with Guess? Jeans and later sold his shares to his brothers in 1993. After being successfully countersued by former employees, Marciano lost his immense fortune when he was ordered to pay $370,000,000 to settle the suit. His financial life is currently in shambles, thus prompting the sale of his iconic mansion.

For years, the estate was often a stop for tour buses in the area, thanks to the 10+ Ferrari’s regularly parked out front. Times really have changed and now it’s time for Marciano to bid adieu to his 7-bedroom, 9-bathroom, 19,500 square foot estate. Exquisitely designed in 1927 by Robert D. Farquhar, the estate was once home to Harry Cohn, the legendary founder of Columbia Pictures.

A grand two-story wood-paneled foyer leads to a dramatic sweeping staircase and public rooms, including an elegant living room, formal dining room, billiard/game room, card room, family room, 2 kitchens, paneled library and a screening room. The upper level includes a lavish master suite with separate his and hers bath and walk-in closet wings and study. 6 additional bedrooms and 5 bathrooms complete the upper quarters. The property’s amenities include a circular motor court and garages, 2 guest houses, maids quarters, a sunken tennis court and pavilion, terraces, pool/cabana, and over 2 acres of lush gardens, lawns and pathways. A truly breathtaking Italian revival estate.
