17.6 acres, 3 structures, and lots of lush and natural landscaping

Longtime Hollywood star and environmentalist Daryl Hannah is hoping to make a ‘Splash’ in the real estate market!

The actress has relisted her bucolic Malibu compound for $4,250,000, after first trying to sell it for $4,995,000 in early 2012.

While the sprawling property is a massive 17.6 acres, the actual living quarters are three teeny-tiny (albeit charming) structures.

Private and park-like, the home is described as a “farm, oasis and retreat, all-in-one.” Once a nursery, Hannah’s property is home to many exotic plants, trees and giant cacti. One of the three homes on the property is an original 1927 river-stone hunting lodge surrounded by an outdoor moss deck that has recently been updated to include in-floor heating, large walk-in closet/dressing room and an indoor/outdoor shower with a Japanese soaking tub.

The second home is a rustic and casual lodge, and the third is a bright guest room with 15+ foot ceilings and a loft from where the coastline is visible. There are numerous acres of flatland, as well as a large, flat, fenced pasture, acres of terraced, irrigated orchard or vineyard ready land. Other earthly amenities include a deer-fenced vegetable garden, an ancient palm grove, tons of sunshine and even views of the nearby Pacific Ocean.

Daryl Hannah has been a fixture in Tinseltown since she arrived on the scene in the late 70’s and became a bonafide star in the 1980’s when she appeared in Blade Runner. Her most well-known role as the sexy mermaid Madison in Splash, which debuted in 1984. Since then, she’s appeared in a roster of other films that include Wall Street, Steel Magnolias, Northfork, and Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill franchise. She also makes headlines through her aggressive activism, which has led her arrest – most famously in front of the White House in the summer of 2011.

Just this week, she made headlines when she was linked romantically with rocker Neil Young, who recently split with his wife of 36 years.

Ann Eysenring, Nima Sajadi and Banjamin Forrest of The Agency hold the listing.

When it comes to celebrity real estate, Renee Zellweger stays relatively under-the-radar. She has managed to buy and sell a number of properties in Los Angeles and New York with little to no fanfare. This week, she decided that it’s time to part ways with a charming Connecticut farm home that she has owned since 2004. As reported by Forbes, Zellweger bought the property in 2004, when it had a $1,320,000 price tag. After taking the next 7 years to extensively renovate and enjoy the property, Zellweger has just listed it for sale for $1,500,000.

Jonathan Radford, a vice president for Coldwell Banker Previews International and the listing agent for the property told Forbes, “Renee has enjoyed the property for a number of years, however her current work schedule and travel commitments do not allow her to visit the property as frequently as she would like. The house is simply elegant. All of the finishes that have been chosen while high end, are all understated.”

Renamed “The Cotton Tavern Estate,” the property features a main house with three-bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a one-bedroom guest cottage, and a barn. The 3,463-square foot main house contains a master suite with a sitting room and en-suite bathroom, a library, a dining room with built-in cabinets, and an enclosed porch. Much of the home features exposed wood beams and many rooms tout wood-burning fireplaces. A hidden gem, an unused but fully-finished third floor contains built-in storage and vaulted ceilings.

The barn on the property is fashioned strictly for entertainment purposes. Coming in at about 2,000 square-feet, the barn is the perfect entertaining space, with a game room and bar.

This may be a Connecticut farm, but it does have the Hollywood touches of a swimming pool and helicopter landing pad.
