    Shakira is selling in Miami!

The stunning international superstar and “The Voice” judge is saying goodbye to the waterfront Miami mansion she’s owned since September 2001. Property records we peeped show that the Colombian-born hottie and new mommy paid $3,380,000 for a 3 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom, 6,672 square foot home just minutes from the glitz of South Beach.

Now, the home is on the market with a big time price tag – $14,950,000. In the 12 years Shakira has owned the sleek pad, she added 3 additional bedrooms, 4 more bathrooms and almost 1,700 more square feet to the already large and luxe estate.

With a new baby and a life that keeps her away from Florida, it’s no longer “Whenever, Wherever” for the settled-down Shakira, who is now ready to part with the waterfront Zen sanctuary. Fully remodeled, the home has light wood floors that sprawl throughout the home and a state-of-the-art kitchen with Miele appliances and a Sub-Zero refrigerator. The master bedroom on the second floor has an adjoining nursery or office and the rest of the home has guest quarters and a gym.

Outside, a hardwood deck surrounds a pool and the backyard has direct access to the bay via a private dock.

Since their heyday as Hollywood’s ‘it’ couple following the ’80s hit movie, “Crocodile Dundee,Paul Hogan and his longtime wife and former co-star, Linda Kozlowski, have been busy climbing the property ladder. Last July, we reported that the real estate power couple bought a five-bedroom, six-bath pad for $3,800,000, after listing another palatial Malibu home in February 2012 for $6,475,000.

After only six months, the Hogans are ready to sell their most recent purchase — the 6,382 square foot estate nestled in a prime location in Malibu — which was impeccably revamped in 2012, blending modern European sensibility with the home’s existing Victorian elegance. Featuring spectacular ocean views, the property is designed to let in plenty of natural light. The gourmet chef’s kitchen boasts top-of-the-line appliances, while the master suite includes a sitting area, two large walk-in closets, and a private lanai. A library, office spaces, three additional en-suite bedrooms, plus a bonus bedroom round out the rest of the main home. A short walk outside leads you to the one-bedroom guest house and the additional three-car garage.

          $45,000 a month

NBA Baller Chris Bosh is showing us the literal meaning of the term now that his Pacific Palisades home has hit the rental market for $45,000 a month, according to The Real Estalker. The NBA star who currently dribbles for the Miami Heat is away from this home so frequently that it’s time to temporarily give it up to some well-heeled renters for a while. But don’t cry for Chris, he has an incredible Miami mansion that he and his wife bought in September 2010 for $12,333,000. That home is a gated and glassy 12,368 square foot modern mansion on the water.

Chris’ for-lease place is a real palace in the Palisades. For a mere $45,000 a month, you’ll get a wonderful ocean-view gated estate on approximately an acre-and-a-half. Secluded at the top of a knoll, the home has spectacular unobstructed views of the gorgeous Pacific Ocean and mountains. The outdoor area is punctuated with a resort-style infinity pool with swim up bar and lounge areas. A huge outdoor eating area features a full outdoor kitchen with pizza oven. There’s even an outdoor shower and large flat grassy area, perfect for extravagant entertaining. Inside, you’ll find a movie theatre, bar area with billiards, basically a total sports bar within the house.

The home is perfect for the CEO-type, with it’s ultra-luxurious office/library. Last but not least, the home has a huge master suite with dual master baths with huge walk-in closets and large ocean view balcony with spa off the master.

For those who need a little extra help around the (giant) house, this lease comes with fully-equipped staff quarters.

Jean-Claude Van Damme Drops $6 Million on Marina Del Ray Mansion

International film star and all-around bad ass Jean-Claude Van Damme bought a Damme nice house in the summer of 2012. Property records show that the star fighter/actor paid $6,000,000 for the sleek waterfront home in Marina Del Ray, CA, in July, though the home was listed for $5,850,000. Luxury real estate can be a real ‘Bloodsport,’ so it’s likely Jean-Claude engaged in a heated bidding war over the incredible pad, as he paid well over the asking price.

Van Damme’s big-time acting dollars were put to good use, though, scoring him a brand new, modern home. The property has six bedrooms and eight-and-a-half bathrooms — including a deluxe master suite with his-and-hers baths and a steam shower. There’s also a commercial elevator, bar, library/office, billiard room, gym, rec room, 3D home theater, state-of-the-art Sonos audio system, eight fireplaces, an exceptional kitchen, open floor plan, and ocean views. But our favorite feature is the rooftop hangout, complete with an organic garden, swim jet hydro spa, fire pits, and multiple waterfalls.

Sounds like Van Damme’s new pad is a good place to “kick” it.

It’s always nice to have a Paul Hogan sighting. As we reported in February, Hogan and his long-time wife, Linda Kozlowski, who met on the set of one of the most classic movies of the 1980’s, put their palatial Malibu home on the market. We are happy to report that not only have they sold that home, but they have purchased a new place, also in Malibu. It’s quite the amazing place for a simple guy from the Outback.

The sunny 5 bedroom and 6 bathroom estate, is perfectly located in a prime spot of Malibu and covers over an acre. Perfect for parties, the 6,382 square foot estate features spectacular ocean views, vaulted ceilings and custom oak flooring. The kitchen alone is unlike anything aboriginal, with top of the line appliances and a eat-in breakfast area. In addition to all the bedrooms and bathrooms, the home includes a library, offices and a billiard room. There is also a guesthouse and plenty of garage space.

It goes to show that if you are smart, you can make the benefits of a hit 80’s movie go very, very far. And if you are lucky, you really can find lasting love in Hollywood.

Summer is upon us and it’s a great time of year to be living the luxury lifestyle. If you are looking for a waterfront compound full of history and posh living quarters, look no further than Newport, Rhode Island. Known for being the location for some of the “Summer White Houses” during the administrations of Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy, Newport, Rhode Island is a well-known New England summer resort town and is famous for its Newport Mansions. One of these mansions, called Fairholme, is “a dazzling historic oceanfront estate, superbly sited on 4.3 acres of Newport’s legendary Gilded Age coastline with 425′ of ocean frontage.”

Fairholme is a large waterfront compound that includes a six bedroom carriage house, three interconnected greenhouses, a swimming pool with luxurious cabana pavilion and a manicured outdoor living area overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The main house, which is a Tudor revival masterpiece, was designed by Frank Furness and originally built in 1875.

This well-constructed gem has over 20,000 square feet of living space, with richly textured surfaces, silk covered walls, molded plasterwork and 8 fireplaces, as well as a library, salon and grand ballroom that can seat up to 120 people for dinner.

Upstairs the same attention to detail and comfort is everywhere to be seen in the 2 master bedroom suites and the 9 guest bedrooms. Additionally there are 7 staff bedrooms and 5 large storage rooms located within the staff wing. The second floor is divided into two generous oceanfront master suites, both with private, substantially sized ocean-facing stone terraces, bedrooms, bathrooms, fireplaces, dressing rooms, and custom designed walk-in closets.

Outside on the grounds, prepare to fully unwind and enjoy the summer weather. One highlight is a stunning, fully tiled, infinity edge swimming pool. Adjacent to the pool are two heated marble cabanas, both with full bathrooms and heated floors, a covered veranda, a bar, and an extensive sound system, creating an unmatched setting for entertaining.

To the north of the greenhouses is a 4000+ square foot carriage house with three staff apartments. The garage can accommodate 5 cars; additional features of the building include a gym, an estate office, a staff restroom, a maintenance shop, 2 additional storage rooms and laundry facilities.

Fairholme is simply a special place, and one can almost feel the history amid all the luxury. With a bit of imagination, it’s easy to sense that former guests of the home, such as the Vanderbilts, the Astors or even Jack Kennedy are still there.

Want to live like a real ‘California Girl?’ – well now’s your chance to live in the Pebble Beach home of The Beach Boys’ original member, Mike Love. While the home is a spectacular Tuscan-style estate with stunning, hard-to-part-with ocean views, Love has been trying to sell the estate since 2009. According to the Wall Street Journal, Love originally listed the ‘Surfer’ spread in 2009 for $7.9M. It’s now back on the market and seeking a buyer at a lower list price of $5.995M.

Built in 2003, the 7-bedroom, 7-bathroom home sits on a coveted acre of land in scenic Pebble Beach, the seaside community famous for its incredible golf course and to-die-for coastline. Expansive and sprawling over four levels, the home has an elevator, wine cellar and tasting room, a game room, a gym and a screening room. Additionally, the home has a guest apartment with a separate kitchen.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the Loves are selling the home because their children are no longer in school in Pebble Beach. “It is a lifestyle change,” says Jacqueline Love, Mike’s wife. The couple has an obvious affinity for vacation towns, as their primary residence is in Incline Village, near world famous Lake Tahoe.

Steve and Noel Beutel of Sotheby’s International Realty hold the listing.

Depends on the home you want to build here

The news just broke that high-flying Oracle CEO Larry Ellison purchased 98% of the island of Lanai – the 6th largest of 8 Hawaiian islands – for more than $500 million. Lanai is 18 miles at its widest and totals 140.5 square miles, with approximately 3,000 residents, but features only one town, Lanai City.

Ellison, meanwhile is one of the most wealthy people in the world, with Forbes listing his net worth at a cool $36 billion. Some of Ellison’s other expensive purchases include a 23-acre Japanese-style estate in Woodside which set him back $200 million and a $194 million yacht, not to mention the $80 million he spent on yacht racing over a recent three year period.

So what about the mere millionaires among us? Well, you too can own some incredible properties that feature large amounts of land and access to the water, without all the headaches and expense of owning and operating an entire island.

For example, there’s this stunning $15 million dollar property in beautiful Santa Barbara (any city with two bars in the name must be great), that features 16.5 acres of secluded beachfront property, and is just minutes from downtown.

Or maybe you want to be closer to the action of Los Angeles? If that’s the case, this $18.9 million dollar ocean front beauty is available in the exclusive town of Malibu.

With either choice, you will be master of your own domain, if not master of your own island. It’s hard being a millionaire.
