Actress Maggie Lawson is downsizing in Los Angeles!
After listing her eco-friendly home for $2.2 million in January 2014, there’s now a ‘sale pending’ sign hanging out front of the 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom home, which Maggie and longtime boyfriend James Roday have lived in since 2011. Lawson and Roday decided to go decidedly smaller on their next home, and just closed on a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom, 1,419 square foot home for $1.1 million.
Lawson decided to downsize her home life, but her career is in full bloom. She is best known for her role as Detective Juliet “Jules” O’Hara in the TV show Psych, and in 2014, she’ll be the lead in a show called “Save The Date,” about a newly single woman who drunkly leaves a deposit on a wedding venue and is tasked with finding the right man in time.
Offscreen, Dawson is pretty sure she’s found the right house at the right time. Located in the same neighborhood as her former home, her smaller bungalow-style abode is a refurbished 1888 home that was relocated from Normandie in Los Feliz to Bronson Canyon as part of a project sponsored in the late 1920′s and early 1930′s by the Los Angeles Times and the Home Planning Bureau of LA. It was moved to be showcased as a shining example of what this restoration movement could do.
Today, one might use words “repurposed” or “green” to describe the home, which light, bright and thoroughly modern. Inside, clean lines lead you from one room to another, and outside, there are plenty of distinct areas to entertain in and enjoy the California sunshine.
Holly Purcell of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties represented the sellers and Margaret Arana of Nourmand & Associates was Lawson’s agent.
