Hollywood Hills, CA
Actor with roles in Brokeback Mountain, The Day After Tomorrow and many more
3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, 2,836 square feet on 2 acres, with a pool and views
Gyllenhaal has morphed into an A-list actor during his tenure in Hollywood, and off-screen, he’s a very popular choice for a semi-temporary boyfriend by many actresses and singers, including Kirsten Dunst, Reese Witherspoon, Taylor Swift, Rachel McAdams and others.
When he’s not stepping out with the hottest young thing in Hollywood, Gyllenhaal holes up in this gated compound on almost two acres of land. Perfect for staying out of the limelight, the home is located down a private drive and has sensational panoramic views. Insiders even say they’re some of the best in L.A.
The lushly-landscaped, estate-size lot has trails and a large, sprawling grassy yard.
The one-story home itself may appeal to the geriatric set, but what it lacks in modern amenities and of-the-moment trends, it makes up for with charm, space and light throughout.
The home also embraces the sprawling acreage and opens up to a large swimming pool and multiple entertaining areas.
The Real Estalker first reported the listing and hinted that Jake may have been renting the place out for the last couple years and living elsewhere. He put down $2.5 million for the home in 2005 and has recently been spotted house-hunting in New York.
Denny Kagasoff of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services holds the listing.
Bel Air Crest, CA
Reality TV and Hip Hop star; Married, parents to baby North West
3/4 acre, views, under construction
Rumors have been swirling that Kim and Kanye West have secretly listed their unfinished, torn-to-pieces Bel Air Crest mansion that the duo spent years renovating for $11 million. According to reports, the in-progress mansion is secretly for sale to any ambitious buyer who has deep pockets, and a penchant for a project!
Back in January 2013, when they first found out they were pregs with baby North, K&K bought a plenty-nice Tuscan-style mansion in a gated community for about $9 million, and then proceeded to strip it down, remove entire walls, push it out further to the backyard, change the plans, change them again, all before finally throwing their hands in the air and heading to Hidden Hills, where they spent $20 million on a gorgeous, brand-new (no changes necessary) mansion just around the corner from mama Kris Jenner.
With a ridiculously perfect, completely-finished, move-in-ready mansion of their own, the duo have quietly listed their former home, asking an optimistic $11 million for the property, as first reported by The Real Estalker. If a Kardashian-owned mansion without walls is what you’ve been looking for, this could be a great buy.
Secretly for sale on the down low as the perfect “blank slate” on a primo piece of 3/4 acre, guard-gated land, the property has room for a 14,000 square-foot home, a pool and a large carport out front. Situated on a ridgeline, the home has priceless views.
Now if only it had four walls.
Grammy-winning producer who spent 12 years as a judge on 'American Idol'
5 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, pool, guest house, gated
Purchased by the Grammy-winning super-producer in May 2005 for $2,725,000, Jackson just sold the 5 bedroom, 8 bathroom, 5,878 square foot place for $1,900,000. That’s $825,000 less than what Jackson paid when he bought it. Ouch.
He listed the gated estate for $2.199 million in June 2014, price chopped it to $1.99M, and then quickly found a buyer…but not one willing to pay full asking on the gated estate in the El Caballero area of Tarzana.
The buyer got a bargain basement price on a large custom-built estate with a newer gourmet kitchen with high-end amenities, including granite countertops, stainless steel Viking appliances, a SubZero fridge/freezer.
In the master suite, Jackson’s house had his/her bathrooms, with direct access to the spa. All five bedroom are over-sized, with their own en-suite bathrooms and walk-in closets.
The exterior features a sparkling swimming pool and manicured, lush green lawn. Beyond the pool, the property also featured a stand-alone guest house with full kitchen and central air and heat.
Kenneth Margolis of Soetheby’s International Realty was Jackson’s agent and Alan Parness of Rodeo Realty represented the buyer.
Hollywood star and passionate environmentalist
17.6 acres, 3 structures, and lots of lush and natural landscaping
Longtime Hollywood star and environmentalist Daryl Hannah is hoping to make a ‘Splash’ in the real estate market!
While the sprawling property is a massive 17.6 acres, the actual living quarters are three teeny-tiny (albeit charming) structures.
Private and park-like, the home is described as a “farm, oasis and retreat, all-in-one.” Once a nursery, Hannah’s property is home to many exotic plants, trees and giant cacti. One of the three homes on the property is an original 1927 river-stone hunting lodge surrounded by an outdoor moss deck that has recently been updated to include in-floor heating, large walk-in closet/dressing room and an indoor/outdoor shower with a Japanese soaking tub.
The second home is a rustic and casual lodge, and the third is a bright guest room with 15+ foot ceilings and a loft from where the coastline is visible. There are numerous acres of flatland, as well as a large, flat, fenced pasture, acres of terraced, irrigated orchard or vineyard ready land. Other earthly amenities include a deer-fenced vegetable garden, an ancient palm grove, tons of sunshine and even views of the nearby Pacific Ocean.
Daryl Hannah has been a fixture in Tinseltown since she arrived on the scene in the late 70’s and became a bonafide star in the 1980’s when she appeared in Blade Runner. Her most well-known role as the sexy mermaid Madison in Splash, which debuted in 1984. Since then, she’s appeared in a roster of other films that include Wall Street, Steel Magnolias, Northfork, and Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill franchise. She also makes headlines through her aggressive activism, which has led her arrest – most famously in front of the White House in the summer of 2011.
Just this week, she made headlines when she was linked romantically with rocker Neil Young, who recently split with his wife of 36 years.
Ann Eysenring, Nima Sajadi and Banjamin Forrest of The Agency hold the listing.
Real Housewives of New Jersey stars with serious legal troubles
3.5 acres, 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, grand staircase
Theresa and Joe Giudice of the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” fame are selling their large Towaco, NJ house just weeks before they’re set to be sentenced to time in “the big house” – aka jail.
The longtime Bravo TV stars and fan favorites ran afoul of the law this past year, when they were indicted and eventually plead guilty to numerous counts of tax and mortgage fraud. Their sentencing is set for early October, where they’ll find out how many months they’ll spend in the slammer, where they’ll undoubtedly experience a new kind of reality.
With lawyers bills piling up, Joe and Theresa are selling their Jersey estate for $3,999,000. They picked up the vacant lot in 2002 for $530,000, and proceeded to build a massive Chateau-style mega-mansion.
Located at 6 Indian Lane, the home sits on 3.5 acres and has 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms and 10,044 square feet. There’s a lot of Theresa touches throughout, including an abundance of brown and bling. As seen many times on the TV show, the Giudice home has a grand two- story entrance with double Cinderella staircases.
The gourmet kitchen is the center of the home, and is often the scene of Giudice family get-togethers and moments with their four daughters. The kitchen features a butlers pantry and large working center island, perfect for entertaining.
The grand formal great room doesn’t get much screen time, but in the photos, you can see that it features a huge wood-burning fireplace, a soaring two-story ceiling with upstairs balcony overlooking the room.
The master bedroom is just what you’d expect from Theresa – over-sized and over-the-top! It features three custom designed walk-in closets, a massive gas fireplace, and master bath with onyx tile, steam shower, soaking tub.
Pacific Palisades, CA
'Best Actress' Academy Award winner for 'Walk the Line;' and starred in all Legally Blonde films and other romantic comedies
5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, pool, views
Just last month, she paid $1,950,000 for a stately fixer-upper in her hometown of Nashville.
When Reese bought the big Nashville mansion last month, it looked like she was packing up the family and decamping to Tennessee, shedding her glamourous life in California. It seemed like a real possibility, especially since she and Jim had their Brentwood mega-mansion quietly on the market for $14 million. With this brand new West Coast purchase, it seems that Reese and Jim aren’t leaving the Golden State, they’re just changing things up and moving to a new pad!
For their new West Coast deal, property records show that Witherspoon and her agent hubby, Jim Toth, paid $12,705,000 for a 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom, 4,344 square foot home. The home was never publicly for-sale and the deal was an off-market transaction that closed on August 28, 2014.
The home was last sold in December 2012 for $4.9 million to award-winning “starchitect” Ken Ungar, who worked his magic on the property and created an estate worthy of an A-lister. Based on the sold price and the “before” pictures you can see above, Unger took a outdated estate and turned it into something worthy of a $12.7 million price tag, netting a nice profit when the deal closed.
Bel Air, CA
'Curb Your Enthusiasm' actress, now third wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 3,756 square feet, pool, views, gated
Reminiscent of the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, Cheryl’s just-sold home is a Cape Cod-style stunner in upper Bel Air. The home has 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and 3,756 square feet of living space. A formal entry gives way to an expansive one story home centered around a grassy backyard with sparkling pool and large brick patio.
The center of the home features a great room with exposed wood-beamed ceilings and custom shelving and a den. Nearby, the kitchen has a large center-island with Viking appliances, abundant storage space, a walk-in pantry and built-in breakfast area. The formal dining room has wood floors and overlooks the grassy front yard.
The master suite features a fireplace, beautiful bathroom with spa tub and large walk-in closet. French doors lead to the backyard, with coveted views of the canyon, city and ocean.
The newest Mrs. Kennedy made a tidy profit on the deal. She bought the home for $2,350,000 in August 2010, and sold it for $755,000 more, just four years later! Now, that’s a great wedding present from the real estate market!
Los Angeles, CA
Bad boy member of the Backstreet Boys
3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and over 3,000 square feet of open living space
McLean paid $2,458,000 for the spot in September 2006, and now, he’s asking just $1,795,000 for the 3 bedroom, 4 bathroom spot. A potential loss of that size can’t be music to the former boy bander’s ears. He tried to recoup some of the money he paid for the place when he first listed the home in April 2012 for $1,999,999. With no buyers in sight, McLean and his new wife, Rochelle Karidis, pulled the home off the market for a bit.
Now, the home is back!
An “oasis” located on the most prestigious, privately owned and tree-lined street in The Oaks, the house has over 3,000 square feet of open living space. There’s a large formal living room, and a dining room with built-ins. The gourmet kitchen is a chef’s dream, with stainless steel appliances, granite counter-tops, a built-in wine refrigerator and plenty of space atop the island.
Creatively planned, the home’s indoor/outdoor flow is perfect for entertaining. The home is highlighted by a gorgeous backyard with gas fireplace, built-in BBQ, and a magical water fountain. Lush landscaping throughout the property creates the ultimate in home privacy.
Adam Sires of Nourmand & Associates holds the listing.
San Francisco & New York
According to Trulia data, the iconic home used for exterior shots on Full House is located at 1709 Broderick Street in San Francisco. It last sold for $2,865,000 in 2013. Based on our calculations, even with the whole brood living there, Danny Tanner, Uncle Jesse and Joey would be priced out of the pricey property.
If they put down a 20% down payment and got a 30-year, 4.1% fixed-rate mortgage, their monthly mortgage payment would top $14,000.
Let’s do the math: if Danny (played by Bob Saget) made close to $160,000 a year as the host of the local Tv show, Wake Up San Francisco, Joey made $30,000 doing stand-up gigs around the country, and Uncle Jesse raked in $48,000 as a musician, together, they could only afford a home around $1.23 million or about a $6,000-a-month mortgage. Not even close!

3 stories, moat, custom-built, 8 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms
NBA baller Dwayne Wade and actress Gabrielle Union wed this weekend…and they did it in style!
The newlyweds exchanged vows at a private, custom-built, castle-like estate in the Miami area, complete with a moat!
The black-and-white affair was attended by sports and Hollywood A-listers, and guests were able to explore the grounds of the gorgeous venue, a for-sale home called “Chateau Artisan” that was recently up for grabs for $12.8 million.
Designed and built in 2007 by famed architect Charles Sieger, the fabulous 14-acre estate sits in the middle of a moat, with water on all sides. The home has 8 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a wine cellar, sprawling lawns, a koi pond and incredible gardens.
If the moat isn’t enough, in case of emergencies, the home has impact glass and a full-house generator.
The castle, with all its bells and whistles, was the perfect place for Dwayne and Gabrielle to start their ‘fairy tale’ life.
