What Locals Say about Womelsdorf

"I’ve lived in Womelsdorf for 30 years, and have learned to love small-town living. It’s wonderful to have great neighbors who pitch in and help during hard times. We couldn’t ask for a better town to live in. We have a very active volunteer fire department who does a wonderful job keeping us safe. We also have a hometown police force watching over us. If you’re looking for small town living, this is one place that you would be proud to call home❣️ I’ve sold many homes in the Western Berks in eastern Lebanon area, it’s nice to work where you have the pulse on the market❣️"

"Bethany Childrens Home is located just outside of town . They run amuck at all hours of the night , breaking into vehicles etc . The facility should be shut down . "

"I’ve been living in Womelsdorf for almost 30 years now. My husband was born and raised here, and only lived outside of the Dorf for two years when he met me . I didn’t understand what the big deal was to a little town until I lived here, it’s quite unique with good natured people who will do anything to help you ! We have great neighbors and it’s nice to feel safe and secure in your surroundings ! Highly recommend living in the DORF ! "

"Womelsdorf is a very busy town for the size being so small. Although, the town is busy, it is never over crowded and people are very kind. "

" Has a grocery store in town, a CVS, a rite aid, beer distributor and a turkey hill and McDonalds in town and two public parks and one school that was recently renovated. But its Crime rate is surprisingly high for such a small area. mostly thefts from cars and yards."

"This is a small town of about 5000 residents. It sports plenty of restaurants, from fast food (McDonald's and Pizza Hut) to Johnny & Hans, Risser's Diner, a decent Chinese restaurant, and some upscale local taverns. The library is right at the end of the block. Plenty of churches in town. Grocery shopping, a state liquor store, and a beer shop are less than a mile away. For entertainment, you do have to drive about 15 miles away, either in to Reading or Lebanon, except that now the Newmanstown Theater, a small independent movie theater, has started up, just about 4 miles from town. The arts are mostly through the local high school, which is pretty big on sports. Womelsdorf Women of Today does a lot of fundraising, and there are several very active Fire Station support groups in town. Nice back yards, too. Womelsdorf is 250 years old in 2012. Be sure to watch the annual Halloween Parade!"
