"No special events in the neighborhood . But my neighbors are friendly and have children the same age as our friends grandson whom we watch. It does feel like a sense of community with much kindness and respect for one another "

"I've lived here in Southgate for more than 4 years. The neighborhood is quite and quite friendly. I don't have to do gardening because I live at the Fountain Park Apartments. "

"I don’t commute as I work from home, however, my husband works at the airport and it takes him roughly 30 minutes. It’s actually a straight shot down several main roads. There are often lane closures for construction but there is always an alternative route. "

"Police are terrible here. They will trip you up at the slightest opportunity. Other than that Downriver in general is a good family friendly neighborhood"

"uniquely Southgate, neighbors are friendly and houses are well kept. Streets are kept clean, traffic is at a minimum, nobody really speeds, and children are generally well behaved."
