"Hillcrest has some amazing private schools that are known across the U.S. These schools that will serve as a stepping stone to assist your children in the admissions process to an Ivy League University. Hillcrest is a very dog friendly neighborhood with many if not all parents picking up after them. If you are looking for work… lol I hope you work in the field of medicine. "

"Hillcrest is busy but friendly - and a walker's paradise. I walk to Balboa Park, lots of restaurants and bars, grocery and drug stores, my hair stylist, and most any other service I could want. The Uptown Condo development adds to that with a wonderful solar-heated saltwater pool, hot tub, gym, our own dog park, and underground parking. "

"Hillcrest "simulates" both the walkable communities of the East Coast (shopping and restaurants in easy walking distance) and the amenities of the West Coast (Balboa Park is an easy walk away and a great running destination if so inclined). "

"The neighborhood is safe for kids to walk or ride their bike to excellent public and private schools that can be a pathway to Ivy League universities. Beautiful parks and Balboa Park that provides educational museums for all ages and many mediums including but not limited to learning ballet… plus great food. And free summer concerts… and so much more. You have to visit to believe it."

"There are dogs all over. Dog owners are very friendly. I rarely see dogs without leashes. Most owners pick up after their dogs. The park is an easy place to go walk your dog."

"Beautiful area love walking the neighborhoods and the park. Homeless are a problem in most places around here so there’s no real avoiding it but just mind your own business. I love living here. So close to downtown and a quick drive to the beaches."

"Great transportation also most people travel in Uber and Lyft. The area is well maintained and dog friendly. So many wonderful restaurants and walking distance to everything in Hillcrest including our local post office and MVD. "

"Love this neighborhood. Pet friendly! Easily walkable, however, homelessness and addiction has become a serious problem. And owning a home (single-family) is nearly impossible. Many of us are in condos and apartments. "

"Not sure yet, I just moved to the area a week ago. I seen there was a farmers market on Sunday. Tons of restaurants to walk to and 4 grocery stores to choose from. Several option to go north or south on Hwy 163"
