"very horrible transportation, I feel really sorry for those who don't have cars. it's a bad , unorganized, and corrupt place to live or visit. only the other part of Merrillville is catered to and kept nice. The part that is closest to Gary NEEDS help with their unreliable transportation! Called bus company 10x with voicemail no one EVER returned my call...Sad.(sums it up)"

"I drive so there’s no problem getting around and the roads are well maintained. You can drive from Merrillville to Chicago within 40 minutes. Having your own vehicle to get around would be ideal. "

"You have everything you need right here. You never have to go far for what you need. The area is very blended and neighbors still look out for each other. The taxes are low and there are plenty of services."

"Great area to raise children. nice park, schools, shopping. Most of the people are really nice. Much better than other parts of Indiana where I've been, like Gary or Hammond. Best of all, not too far from Chicago. "
