What Locals Say about Lapel

"Lapel is a great place for dogs! There’s many different places to take them on walks and the speed limit is only 20 mph through most of town. Very pet friendly area! "

"It is a very friendly, safe neighborhood to ride bikes or go on walks. I’ve lived here for years and went to school here, it was a great place to grow up. "

"The annual Village Fair which has town wide yard sales, a parade, & downtown Lapel is blocked off with food & craft vendors. Our Schools rank in the top schools in the state. Our sports teams are competitive for a small school. Neighbors help each other like family! Local churches host community events along with different local organizations for things like a fish fry or Fall Bazaar."

"It is a small town, feel country-like but still close to many city conveniences (within 20-30 minutes). "

"I work here and know many people here. It's an amazing small town. For those of you who don't like traffic congestion and noice - this is THE PLACE to live in NE metro Indianapolis."

"I moved to the town of Lapel 24 yrs. ago and have enjoyed living here very much. I do regret that the community leaders have not pushed for more shopping or parking in the downtown. If an organization such as Main Street USA were brought in this could make such a difference towards addressing these needs. A progressive town board as well as other boards, is needed. Lapel sets in an ideal location as it did so many years ago when the railroad was brought through and the town was created---highway 37, 32 and 69 are our railroad crossing today."

"Lapel is a very family oriented community. Everyone is friendly, a wave or hello is always being given. They allow golf carts for in- town commuting, and during the Village Fair that is the desired mode of transportation. They have a great marching band at both Jr. High and High School level and athletic departments at both. A great volunteer fire department, parks department and involved town board. They are building a park for various sports (smaller version of Westfield) as well as a dog park. They also have two existing parks, with a water park located in one. The town has a library (Anderson branch) which is very inviting for readers, if they don't have it they will get it. Lapel is a very safe place to live with neighbors watching out for each other. The only thing that is lacking within the town itself is places to shop but Noblesville, Fishers, and Anderson are just minutes away. I would highly recommend Lapel, In. to anyone who wants all the perks of living near to everything but low cost of living, and the quaintness of a small town."
