"Old car shows every Monday in the summer. Fourth of July parade down Main Street. Christmas parade in the winter. "

"Everyone is friendly, safe environment, but there are not a lot of fun things to do here. Crete is starting to build more stores however, and it’s not far from other towns stores and entertainment. "

"Crete Country Christmas in December, and the parade for Memorial Day. Crete has a very good park district, and a cute downtown. "

"There is no public transportation, which has its pros and cons. But, overall, Crete is a nice, quiet place to retire or raise children."

"Great place to raise kids as there’s many community events and Crete has an amazing park district. Crete Country fair is my favorite time of the year. We have amazing kids in our community!"

"Friends moved to Crete and I'm considering moving out of the congestion & crime of the city. I've known about Crete for 30 years but never really explored it. People jogging, walking their dogs, bicycling with their children. Each time I visit my friends, I don't want to go home. It's such a fabulous community, home prices are so amazing. Who needs the north shore, Oakbrook or Naperville??"
