"Beautiful established neighborhoods with stately homes, towering trees, quiet streets -- yet close to so many amenities: Sprouts, King Soopers, Petsmart, Ulta, Marshalls. So many high quality, many independently owned, restaurants within walking distance. Observatory Park with it's expansive playing fields, the Observatory, nice tennis courts, playground, benches, and massive trees that provide excellent shade in the summer. Besides Observatory Park, there are several other parks easily within walking or bike riding distance. DU is very close by as well as Porter and Swedish Medical Centers. There is a YMCA on S. Colorado Blvd that is also a "trailhead" of sorts to a great walking / bike riding path along a gulch."

"I can't imagine what they wouldn't like. It is very dog-friendly. There are so many people walking dogs in the morning and late afternoon. A lot of shade for the dogs in the summer, and great parks. There are several trash cans along the way as well as in the parks to dispose of the waste bags."

"Close enough to I-25 for easy access; as well as within 10 minutes of the Colorado Station to catch the rail for a quick, easy trip to anywhere you wish to go around the metro or to DIA. A bit of traffic but easy enough to get around. Get to know the side roads, but PLEASE - note that most speed limits through there are 25 mph. That is because it's residential, but also in this neighborhood, there are a lot of people that walk their dogs, walk and ride bikes with their children, older people that are cautious."

"I have lived in University Park since 1945. The original purpose of the area was support for the University of Denver, which had moved from its original location in downtown Denver to what would become University Park, seven miles south of town. Abutting DU to the south sits the Iliff School of Theology. Many older homes, that were built for the professors and trustees of these schools remain and are considered iconic in the neighborhood. As the schools grew, and as Denver expanded to the south, houses of every style, size and era were built, giving University Park a kaleidoscope of visual treats for those who like to walk or bicycle around the area. At any time from dusk to dawn, people are out and about pushing strollers, walking their dogs or just strolling along the wide streets. Many large, old trees can be found, including several of the cottonwood trees that Mrs. Iliff planted from her massive mansion between South Cook and South Madison along Warren Avenue to the Iliff School of Theology, located at the southwest corner of University Blvd. and Warren Avenue. The elementary school, University Park School, has an excellent rating and is heavily supported by the neighborhood. I attended this school in the 40's and early 50's! Residents of University Park are kind and friendly but not intrusive. They watch out for each other and know when something doesn't look right. They are not pretentious but down to earth. The women have a monthly get together and the young mothers also have a social connection. There are special events in the neighborhood that are free and well attended. They include a wonderful 4th of July kids parade with Warren being closed to automobiles, the Denver Municipal Band playing patriotic favorites, hot dogs and popsicles for sale and culminating with the fire engine spraying massive amounts of water into the park for all who want to get soaked. There is also a horse drawn hayride in December and concerts in the summertime. "

"For those that want to be able to walk to movies, restaurants and Light Rail, this is the place to be! Close to the action but still secluded enough to have privacy when you want it."

"This is an amazing neighborhood with well maintained ranch homes on large lots, that afford wonderful privacy. Yet the neighborhood vibe is friendly, very walkable and diverse. There are families with young kids and 90-plus year olds who do not want to leave the area."
