"Historic Hudson River town. Breathtaking architecture and period homes line the streets. Many available and still affordable. Small Athens elementary school is an asset to the community for families. Directly across the river from Hudson, Athens is definetly and town on the rise. "

"Greene Co. is in the heart of the Hudson Valley and the Catskills in upstate NY. It is a quiet and scenic area, yet everything you would want is at your back door! PGA grade golf courses, ski resorts, Hudson River boating & fine dining. Athens is a historic & picturesque riverside village, full of civic pride and family oriented. Little league, soccer league, municipal pool, state preserves for hiking, & a dog park to name a few! As a bonus, the capital city of Albany is 30 minutes drive away. Also close to Amtrak Station, NYS Thruway & 2 hr drive from NYC! Have all you ever wanted or longed for here! "

"Athens is a quaint, river front village with that small-town flair, yet filled with eclectic cafe's, upscale riverfront restaurants, cultural center & wonderfully equipped play grounds with river views. Marinas, outdoor summer concerts, & close to the Capital Region night life, Amtrack, ski resorts & PGA rated golf courses. The best of both worlds !"

"Athens is a quaint and beautiful river front village with many well kept and restored historic homes. Civic pride is alive and well, as the village is clean, well kept and has attracted several eclectic and upscale restaurants, and hosts weekly concerts in the park all summer. Athens exudes that "Norman Rockwell" small town charm. There are several play parks as well as a one acre dog-park and ball fields for the little league. Centrally located, Athens is a 30 mile jaunt to the capital region in Albany, or just 10 miles to the Historic City of Hudson and the railway with direct Commute to NYC. Additionally, Athens is located within easy access to the NY State thruway. Athens is located within Greene Co, where there are 2 large ski resorts and PGA grade golf courses. Greene County has many cultural and civic events in all of its' towns, giving the whole county a "small town feel." To top it off, the majestic Catskill mountain range stands as a back-drop to beautiful rural scenery."
