Last week, Trulia attended the 2010 Triple Play Realtor convention in Atlantic City, New Jersey. What a great show!
We met so many amazing brokers, agents and association leaders over the course of 4 days. Way too many to list here. Some of them shared their Trulia experiences on video with us like Sandy and Bob Bolcar of RE/Max Village Square in Upper Montclair New Jersey, John Sacktig of Orange Key Realty in East Brunswick, New Jersey, Joe Sheehan of Keller Williams in Exton, Pennsylvania, Kelly Gabriel of Coldwell Banker Riviera in Manahawkin, New Jersey, Trulia Mayor Deborah Madey of Penninsula Realty in Rumson, New Jersey, David Snyde of DRI Real Estate in Ridgewood, New Jersey, Linda Davis of RE/Max Realty Group in Gales Ferry, Connecticut and more…..
I had the pleasure of speaking twice at Triple Play to some good audiences and really enjoyed the feedback I received afterwords from the crowd. What did I learn? Well, for starters, regardless of the economy, agents are trying new tools and sites to help them grow their business. But, many are confused as to which ones to focus on. They crave education. They want to learn. They just need someone to help them and the time to do it.
Secondly, I learned that the brokerage business is as competitive as ever. Local offices are competing for eyeballs and market share more than ever. Broker owners are stepping up there offerings to attract the cream of the crop agents in their markets. Agents are looking for more from their brokers as well. It’s also more about a quality culture, support system and a philosophy rather than just a large commission split. I met some really top producing agents who value working for a company that treats them as family, rather than just another number.
A big thanks to my co-pilots Jen and Jessica for doing a fantastic job of helping everyone at Triple Play. Great teamwork guys!
Overall, there was a good sense of optimism for 2011. Many are eager to start the year off with a bang and are just getting all there ducks in a row as the year winds down. To me, this is exciting to see. Together, team Trulia and I look forward to helping as many agents, brokers and associations make 2011 their best year ever. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to do so. We appreciate you all.
