Everybody’s Working for the Weekend. Loverboy puts it more eloquently than I could. You’ve worked hard this week (you might still be working hard). So on this Saturday and Sunday, get out and reward yourself.

If you’re thinking about buying a new home, get out and start looking around. Whether you plan on buying 3 months from now or 3 years from now, it’s never too early to start looking. Learn about your local market, discover neighborhoods you never knew about, look in homes to see what you like and what you don’t care for. Talk with your significant other to learn about his/her tastes and what their ideal living space involves.

Home buying is a long (and sometimes stressful) process. Starting early and figuring out what you want makes the buying process that much more simple. Plus, it’s a lot of fun. Put on your fanciest clothes and check out homes way beyond your price range. Scout around properties and discover small things that mean a lot to you and see if you can find these things in your ideal home. Talk with different agents and see if you find one you connect with. All of these small things will add up over time and make for a more rewarding and efficient home searching and buying process.

We all need a little motivation from time to time, so I’ll let the smooth rhythms of Loverboy move and shimmy your butt off the couch, into your car and off to see some homes.

Make sure you take advantage of Trulia’s Open House filter when searching for homes this weekend. Simply check the “Open Houses this weekend” box on the left side search bar and you’ll get to see where the action is this Saturday and Sunday.

Happy Friday, and Happy Home Hunting!
