Asphalt Plant Still Being Considered for Petaluma

Sonoma County Planning is still considering the proposal to construct an asphalt plant on the Petaluma River despite strong local opposition. The hearing has been carried over until next January but the application might still be approved. Local opposition comes out of concerns for air quality, water quality, visual impacts and the location right across the river from delicate, protected wetlands at Schollenberger Park. More information is available through the County and through the Press Democrat and Argus Courier. Or, give Scott Stevens a quick email at scottstevens4@gmail.com or call 707 695-4448.
