Lakefront or waterfront property is defined as having the lake out your back door.  Your property borders the lake and you live on the lake.  Lakeview or water view property is defined where you have a view of the lake, but your property doesn't border the lake.  Lake access or water access property is defined as having access to the lake (your property doesn't border the lake, and you don't see the lake). With lake access or water access property, you are just a short walk or drive away from enjoying the lake.  Whatever type of lifestyle you desire, we'll be able to help!

Cherokee Lake, located in northeast Tennessee, is famous for its rolling hills, temperate climate, low cost of living and relaxed lifestyle.  It is situated within 500 miles of half of the U.S. population. The Lake has over 463 miles of shoreline, totaling over 28,780 acres of surface area. Many areas of the lake are designated as Nature Preserve and there are many islands with beaches for picnics.  Cherokee Lake offers 18 public boat launches, 3 marinas and two restaurants located at the HearthStone Bed&Breakfast and at the German Creek Resort and Marina. Cherokee Lake is a full recreational lake, allowing jet skis, water skiing, swimming, tubing, boat docks, fishing, and other water activities.  Although Cherokee Lake has high water fluctuation levels, it is a fisherman’s paradise as the fish densities are higher than other TVA lakes and it abounds with many species of fish. The Tennessee state record black buffalo was caught here in 1984 weighing 55 lbs. 8 oz. and it has the highest score for large mouth bass of the TVA lakes. And incidentally, Tennessee does not have state income taxes!

The shoreline displays custom built homes, starting in price from $200,000+ for dockable waterfront lots and lakefront homes.  Water access lots and non-dockable waterfront lots range in price from $39,900 to $64,900+. With boating traffic rated as low to moderate, you can see why so many people describe the natural beauty of Cherokee Lake as "breathtaking." And when you see it, you will feel the same.
